The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, in the Pyrenees region of France, has been a pilgrimage site for Catholics since the 19th Century. Built on top of a grotto where the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Bernadette, its springs have been attracting people for centuries due to the healing powers of its holy water. These mints received the blessing of Pope Leo XIII on January 26, 1888.
