A Theology of Home Thanksgiving

By Emily Malloy

It has been a gift to travel along this edible journey toward Thanksgiving with you.

As I said in the very beginning, the joy of Thanksgiving is in the gathering of loved ones around the table. It is in the thunderous laughter, bumping of elbows, and border house reaches that beckons us to the same table from near and far. As the day wouldn't be as meaningful without the gathering of hearts, it seems only right that the focus of the day lies mostly upon those we love.

Theology of Home Thanksgiving Table

Each recipe was crafted with you in mind. It is our wish here at Theology of Home that the legwork behind Thanksgiving is manageable that you are able to be fully present to the individuals with whom you are feasting.

Thanksgiving has been coined "Turkey Day" for a reason! It is the most important portion of the spread. I shared with you a fuss-free recipe that will happily be the main event for the cook and the consumer. The original post can be found here. The printable version recipe can be found here

Side dishes act as a tremendous accompaniment to the main feature. On Thanksgiving, side dishes have gained such importance that they are nearly  stand-alone items in their own right!

Theology of Home Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce and turkey are two peas in a pod. What would a Thanksgiving plate be without that delightful tanginess cutting through the rich foods of the day? I daresay I don't want to find out. Oh, pie! This Pear-Bourbon Pie was born from the lifelong tradition of Colonial Pear Pie from my childhood made afresh by a collaborative team effort giving give a nod to the popular pear and bourbon cocktail. This, I think, is a beautiful analogy of Thanksgiving wrapped up in a sugary bow. The original post for the recipe can be found here. The printable version of the pie recipe can be found here.
